Exam Instructions & Important Reminders

  • Candidates, parents and teachers, this online examination will be conducted through a designated app. Parents or teachers will be required to assist in the operation according to the guidelines. Candidates will complete and submit the questions in the app and must strictly abide by the rules of the examination to ensure the smooth conduct of the examination.

  • Exam links will be sent to participants five business days before the registration deadline. Please complete the exam within the notified timeframe.

  • Your exam number, access code, and exam link will be sent via WhatsApp or email.

  • Please verify that your personal information is correct when logging in to the designated exam platform. Your login information must be consistent with the details you provided during registration; any mismatch will invalidate your results.

Competition Rules

1、Originality: All entries must be completed independently by the participant. No submissions of others' works are allowed. Participants may use their own previous competition works.

2、Content Restrictions: All entries must not contain obscene, violent, sexual, defamatory, inappropriate, or controversial content. Violation of this rule will result in disqualification without prior notice.

3、Personal Data Use: Personal information provided by participants will only be used for competition contact purposes and to distribute competition notifications.

4、Accuracy of Information: Participants must ensure that their personal information is accurate. The organizers will not be responsible for any errors.

5、Acceptance of Terms: By submitting their entries, participants agree to all competition terms and conditions. The organizers reserve the right to disqualify any participant believed to have violated any competition rules, and there will be no appeals process.

Scoring Criteria

  • Knowledge Accuracy & Logical Coherence: Accurately apply core astronomical knowledge (celestial mechanics, observational astronomy, stellar astrophysics, solar system dynamics, cosmology) in this online competition. Maintain strict logical rigor in all steps—from astronomical phenomenon analysis, key data extraction to theoretical inference and conclusion—with no factual errors or logical gaps. For theoretical and calculation questions, master core concepts like astronomical modeling and physical deduction, and follow systematic scientific thinking.

  • Method Application & Skill Demonstration: Use targeted astronomical problem-solving tactics (e.g., quick orbital parameter calculation, spectral data filtering, in-depth observational analysis) for this online exam. Analyze astronomical data via physical and mathematical reasoning, integrate interdisciplinary thinking (physics, mathematics, space science) for complex tasks, and demonstrate solid astronomical literacy by applying laws and formulas accurately to solve problems efficiently, with difficulty aligned to the contest’s rounds.

  • Follow the 2026 World Youth Science Competition’s online submission standards: Present calculations, derivations and analysis with precise astronomical symbols and professional terms. Keep language concise and clear. For objective questions, submit answers directly; for subjective tasks, structure responses with observational evidence, reasoning and conclusions, and mark theoretical foundations for easy online grading.

  • In-depth Understanding and Expansion Innovation: Go beyond basic problem-solving to explore the physical principles and cosmic meaning behind contest questions. Connect astronomical theories to real-life scenarios (e.g., orbital mechanics for satellite navigation, photometric analysis for exoplanet detection), and propose innovative ideas like integrating practical observation into youth science education to highlight flexible knowledge application.

Group Registration Form

For groups of 4 or more members, please click the link below to access the group registration form. After filling it out, send it to us via WhatsApp or email.

For subsequent group entries, the group leader should name the works according to the competition requirements and submit all entries of the participants at once via WhatsApp or email.Entry Name: Name of Contestant - Age Group.【EG:Chan Ka Ming - Primary Group】
