Submission Specifications for Participants

Participants may present diverse forms of calligraphy works, including modern calligraphy creation, traditional classic calligraphy rendition, free-style calligraphy interpretation, improvisational calligraphy creation, and themed original creative calligraphy pieces. Entries can be individual or group collaborative works. Contestants may adopt standard calligraphy creation structures, brushwork patterns and artistic expression techniques to showcase personal creation characteristics and unique creative conceptions.
All works should demonstrate solid cultural foundation and calligraphy accomplishment, including smooth brushwork execution, reasonable layout arrangement, profound artistic conception, coherent creation logic and distinct thematic expression. Traditional-style calligraphy works should adhere to orthodox writing norms and cultural connotations, while original creative calligraphy pieces are encouraged to integrate contemporary perspectives and modern aesthetic ideas. Participants may create works with unrestricted themes and styles, as long as the entries conform to positive cultural orientation and aesthetic values of the competition. Standard creation formats are allowed, and basic artistic polishing and auxiliary modification methods are permitted to optimize the presentation of calligraphy works.
Participants must submit complete and standard final versions of their calligraphy works with intact content, clear creative context and full artistic expression. A short attachment including the participant’s name, age and brief creative introduction is required for entry. All submitted work files must be in standard readable formats with accurate stroke and layout arrangement and neat composition layout for professional official judging.
Works may be submitted via website upload, WhatsApp, or Email (only one method required), and must be named in accordance with competition rules.

Competition Rules

1、Originality: All entries must be completed independently by the participant. No submissions of others' works are allowed. Participants may use their own previous competition works.

2、Content Restrictions: All entries must not contain obscene, violent, sexual, defamatory, inappropriate, or controversial content. Violation of this rule will result in disqualification without prior notice.

3、Personal Data Use: Personal information provided by participants will only be used for competition contact purposes and to distribute competition notifications.

4、Accuracy of Information: Participants must ensure that their personal information is accurate. The organizers will not be responsible for any errors.

5、Acceptance of Terms: By submitting their entries, participants agree to all competition terms and conditions. The organizers reserve the right to disqualify any participant believed to have violated any competition rules, and there will be no appeals process.

Scoring Criteria

Creative Concept & Composition Structure: Present a well-organized calligraphy layout with balanced character spacing, proper structural density and a clear theme. Key creative motifs, visual layers and blank segments follow classical traditional calligraphy rules. All transitions look natural and follow core calligraphy standards: brushwork fluency, tonal rhythm, virtual-real spatial balance and orderly arrangement. Young creators may add mild innovation while respecting traditional calligraphy norms. All elements focus on the main artistic mood, ensuring complete harmony and strong cultural features.

Visual Language & Artistic Style: Arrange stroke strength, ink tone and writing texture to fit mainstream calligraphy styles, including rhythmic scene depiction, textural expression and lyrical calligraphy interpretation, for both solo and group entries. Express delicate artistic feelings through natural ink and stroke variations and balanced structural layout. Keep a unified creation style across the whole work with consistent artistic charm in group collaborative pieces.

Creation Technique & Technical Control: Show solid cultural fundamentals, including reasonable structural proportion, steady stroke execution, clear composition framework, fine technical details and proper rhythmic layering. Maintain stable ink and brush control and reasonable use of creation space. Group works must keep unified rhythm and neat layout. Combine standard traditional calligraphy skills with personal creativity to raise overall artistic quality.

Artistic Appeal & Emotional Expression: Blend personal aesthetic taste, cultural understanding and creation skills into the work. Touch judges with wonderful calligraphic charm, sincere emotion and fresh youth perspectives. Show unique oriental artistic awareness, create a deep impression, and deliver positive traditional cultural values and rich artistic mood.

Awards must be applied for by the winners themselves. After completing the ordering process, the awards will be sent out within approximately two months. If winners wish to learn more about the specific requirements and application process for the awards, it is recommended to log into the designated award application platform of the association to carefully review the detailed guidelines and explanatory documents for the latest information.

The certificates issued this time are in English, while the medals and trophies are presented in Chinese. Winners must accurately fill out their names in both Chinese and English, the school they attend, their email, and other information. If there are errors in the submitted information that require modification, please contact us via WhatsApp for one free modification opportunity; subsequent modifications will incur a fee of HKD 100 each.
