Competition Rules

​1、Originality: All entries must be completed independently by the participant. No submissions of others' works are allowed. Participants may use their own previous competition works.
 

2、Content Restrictions: All entries must not contain obscene, violent, sexual, defamatory, inappropriate, or controversial content. Violation of this rule will result in disqualification without prior notice.
 

3、Personal Data Use: Personal information provided by participants will only be used for competition contact purposes and to distribute competition notifications.
 

​4、Accuracy of Information: Participants must ensure that their personal information is accurate. The organizers will not be responsible for any errors.
 

5、Acceptance of Terms: By submitting their entries, participants agree to all competition terms and conditions. The organizers reserve the right to disqualify any participant believed to have violated any competition rules, and there will be no appeals process.

Scoring Criteria

• Creative Concept & Composition Structure: Deliver a well-organized sketch layout with balanced space arrangement and a clear creative theme. Key modeling areas, tonal layers and transitional blank spaces are evenly arranged. All visual transitions should flow naturally, following core sketch principles: line control, light and shadow logic, tone hierarchy and planar composition. Young participants may add reasonable personal creativity. All sketch elements must support the main theme to ensure complete artwork unity and clear artistic expression.

• Visual Language & Artistic Style: Adjust line strength, shadow contrast, texture and overall style to fit different sketch categories, including still life, portrait, scenery and thematic creation, for both individual and group entries. Express the artwork’s mood through controlled line variation, shadow depth and spatial planning. Maintain consistent artistic style throughout the whole piece with smooth visual harmony in combined works.

• Sketching Skill & Technical Control: Present strong fundamental sketching abilities, including precise proportioning, fluent linework, solid structure, clear details, correct perspective and balanced layering. Keep steady strokes, accurate forms and reasonable use of canvas space. Group works must maintain unified rhythm and neat layout. Combine standard sketch techniques with individual artistic features to raise overall artwork quality.

• Artistic Appeal & Emotional Expression: Blend personal aesthetic sense, theme comprehension and basic art literacy into the sketch. Inspire judges’ appreciation through refined strokes, genuine emotion and fresh youthful perspectives. Show unique artistic thinking, leave a strong impression, and deliver positive aesthetic values and clear emotional meaning in the artwork.
