Submission Specifications for Participants
-
Participants may perform diverse wind instrument genres and styles, including but not limited to classical, folk, jazz, contemporary, creative arrangements, and mixed‑media performances. Programs may be presented as solo, duet, trio (2–3 performers), or small ensemble pieces, and may incorporate musical effects or multimedia elements to showcase personal style and creativity.
-
Entries should demonstrate essential wind instrument techniques: tone control, breath support, rhythm, articulation, musical structure, and thematic expression. Traditional styles must respect cultural and stylistic authenticity, while contemporary works encourage innovative interpretation. Participants may use competition‑approved backing tracks, sheet music, and instrument accessories or their own items that meet safety and quality standards.
-
Participants must submit high‑quality video files clearly showing the complete performance, fingering, embouchure, expression, and overall musicianship. A brief description including name, age and creative concept is required. Videos must be in MP4/MOV format, with clear visuals and stable audio for judging.
-
Works may be submitted via website upload, WhatsApp, or Email (only one method required), and must be named in accordance with competition rules.
Competition Rules
1、Originality: All entries must be completed independently by the participant. No submissions of others' works are allowed. Participants may use their own previous competition works.
2、Content Restrictions: All entries must not contain obscene, violent, sexual, defamatory, inappropriate, or controversial content. Violation of this rule will result in disqualification without prior notice.
3、Personal Data Use: Personal information provided by participants will only be used for competition contact purposes and to distribute competition notifications.
4、Accuracy of Information: Participants must ensure that their personal information is accurate. The organizers will not be responsible for any errors.
5、Acceptance of Terms: By submitting their entries, participants agree to all competition terms and conditions. The organizers reserve the right to disqualify any participant believed to have violated any competition rules, and there will be no appeals process.
Scoring Criteria
-
Repertoire Conception & Musical Structure: Ensure rational overall structure, balanced melodic hierarchy and thematic focus. The main theme, accompaniment (for ensembles) and decorative passages must be proportionate. Transitions between musical sections should be natural, complying with basic musical principles (tonal harmony, rhythmic coherence) while retaining youth’s creative interpretive flexibility. Musical elements (melody, harmony, rhythm) should logically serve the core theme, guaranteeing structural integrity and thematic clarity.
-
Musical Language & Style Expression: Match tone control, articulation and performance style to the repertoire’s theme (classical, folk, youth-themed, contemporary) and form (solo, duet, ensemble). Highlight emotional tone and core connotations via dynamic contrasts, tonal variations and rhythmic flexibility. Maintain distinctive, consistent style throughout the performance, with smooth transitions in multi-movement or collaborative works.
-
Performance Technique Mastery: Demonstrate proficient skills in breath control, fingering accuracy, tone shaping and ornamentation rendering. Show solid command of musical elements, tonal stability and proper use of instrument accessories (mouthpieces, reeds, ligatures). For ensemble performances, ensure tight collaborative coordination. Combine standardized technical execution with personal interpretive features to elevate musical quality.
-
Musical Appeal & Emotional Resonance: Integrate personal musical aesthetics, life experience and cultural understanding into the performance. Evoke resonance through traditional charm, innovative interpretation or sincere emotional expression. Reflect unique artistic perspectives, leave a lasting auditory and emotional impression on the audience, and convey positive cultural values and core emotional messages of the repertoire.
