2025 World Youth Halloween Costume Design Competition

The 2025 World Youth Halloween Costume Design Competition drew to a successful close on [2025.11.18], evolving into an internationally recognized platform for young design talents to showcase their creative brilliance. This influential event brought together creative designers from across the globe, challenging them to demonstrate their design skills, innovative concepts, and cross-cultural integration thinking in a high-stakes design contest.

Jury Conducts Rigorous and Transparent Evaluation

The professional jury, consisting of renowned fashion designers, fashion college professors, and industry experts, adhered to the principles of rigor, fairness, and transparency throughout multiple evaluation rounds. Judges assessed the entries based on two core dimensions: design craftsmanship (including cutting techniques, material application, detail processing, and overall styling sense) and creative core (such as thematic depth, conceptual uniqueness, and cross-cultural relevance).

  • Design Craftsmanship: Evaluations focused on the contestants' mastery of complex design techniques, such as precise presentation of special cuts, coordinated matching of diverse materials, and the ability to enhance the overall atmosphere of the costume through detailed decorations.

  • Creative Core: Standout entries included reinterpreting classic Halloween elements (e.g., reconstructing traditional images like vampires and witches with modern design language) or original themed designs (e.g., creative costumes centered on sci-fi Halloween, eco-friendly Halloween, or youth subcultures).

  • Cross-Cultural Relevance: Works that integrated African traditional totem patterns into Halloween dark-style designs, or combined Asian traditional costume structures with Western Halloween fantasy elements, showcased exceptional cross-cultural design vision.

Awardees Announced: Celebrating Global Design Excellence

Notification emails and SMS are currently being sent to the awardees. Congratulations to all winners for distinguishing themselves in this intense competition through their exquisite design craftsmanship, bold innovative concepts, and unwavering pursuit of costume design.

  • Outstanding Works Highlights

    • A designer reinterpreted the classic Halloween ghost image from a futuristic perspective, creating a costume with both fantasy and futuristic senses through fluorescent materials and 3D printing technology.

    • A designer combined traditional Chinese paper-cut art with Halloween pumpkin elements, presenting a unique visual effect of collision between tradition and modernity through embroidery and hollow-out techniques.

    • A designer integrated European Gothic architectural outlines with South American Indian tribal decorative elements, creating a themed costume exploring cultural integration with strong visual impact.

"The works you have created—whether through exquisite craftsmanship presentation, bold conceptual innovation, or cross-cultural creative expression—embody the innovative spirit and design diversity of young designers today," stated the jury president in the official commendation.

Inspiring Continued Design Exploration

Awardees are encouraged to view this achievement as a launching pad for further design career development, pushing the boundaries of creative expression and deepening cross-cultural design exchanges. The competition also invites more young designers to participate in future editions, using their design creativity to connect cultures and convey unique aesthetics and concepts.

As the 2025 World Youth Halloween Costume Design Competition concludes, its legacy endures: to nurture a new generation of designers who can transcend design style boundaries while honoring their cultural roots. The organizing committee looks forward to witnessing how these young design talents will shape the future of global fashion design communication with their unique perspectives and highly creative works.
