Competition Rules

​1、Originality: All entries must be completed independently by the participant. No submissions of others' works are allowed. Participants may use their own previous competition works.

2、Content Restrictions: All entries must not contain obscene, violent, sexual, defamatory, inappropriate, or controversial content. Violation of this rule will result in disqualification without prior notice.

3、Personal Data Use: Personal information provided by participants will only be used for competition contact purposes and to distribute competition notifications.

​4、Accuracy of Information: Participants must ensure that their personal information is accurate. The organizers will not be responsible for any errors.

5、Acceptance of Terms: By submitting their entries, participants agree to all competition terms and conditions. The organizers reserve the right to disqualify any participant believed to have violated any competition rules, and there will be no appeals process.

Scoring Criteria

• Knowledge Accuracy and Logical Coherence:In the process of answering questions, geographical knowledge points are applied accurately, and the problem-solving ideas are logically clear. Every step, from the elaboration of geographical principles to the reasoning process and the conclusion, is closely connected, with no obvious knowledge errors or logical loopholes. When answering discussion questions and analysis questions, the understanding of geographical concepts is precise, and the argumentation process is well-organized, proceeding in an orderly manner like the regular evolution of geographical phenomena, ensuring the accuracy and coherence of the entire answering process.​

• Method Application and Skill Demonstration:Able to skillfully apply appropriate geographical methods and skills. For example, in map analysis questions, correctly interpret map elements such as contour lines and latitude-longitude grids; in data calculation questions, use appropriate geographical formulas (such as the population density calculation formula) and statistical techniques. The operation process is smooth and natural, just like skillfully using a compass to distinguish directions during field investigations, demonstrating a good level of subject literacy and skill mastery, making the problem-solving process efficient and accurate.​

• Answering Standards and Expression Presentation:Answers are written standardizedly, maps are drawn clearly and accurately, and the text expression is concise, clear, professional and appropriate, conforming to the format and standards required by the questions. When elaborating on viewpoints, one can be as natural and calm as a geographer reporting research results, communicating with the examiners through precise language and clear charts, showing good control over the answering process.​

• In-depth Understanding and Expansion Innovation:Have a deep understanding of the principles behind the geographical knowledge involved in the questions and their application scenarios. Not only can solve the superficial problems, but also can expand in combination with the actual situation in the answers, putting forward innovative insights or solutions. For example, in questions analyzing climate phenomena, one can deeply explore multiple factors such as atmospheric circulation and terrain behind the phenomena, and propose unique ideas for coping with climate change, which are attractive. Just like integrating regional culture into geographical research, it resonates with the examiners, demonstrating a deep mastery and flexible application ability of geographical knowledge.
